About the Role

The Manufacturing Technician II – 2nd Shift assembles, fits, and mounts sub‑assemblies, components, and standard or near‑standard fixed assemblies in motor control centers, enclosed control, and related assemblies. The role involves interpreting oral or written instructions, prints, inspection reports, and wiring diagrams to build and wire control devices, install various electrical components, and ensure proper alignment and clearances. The technician works with hardware such as meters, relays, fuses, transformers, and bus work while adhering to safety and quality standards. • Follow oral or written instructions, prints, inspection reports, and wiring diagrams. • Use manufacturing information sheets to identify parts, create requisitions, and retrieve materials. • Read shop orders and drawings to determine assembly procedures, component types, and mounting locations. • Assemble and fit parts to create sub‑assemblies or complete assemblies. • Wire control devices and cut wires to length. • Adjust assemblies to ensure proper alignment and clearances. • Install units, panels, meters, relays, fuses, transformers, and other components by mounting/bolting. • Assemble and install bus work such as lug adapters, cross‑over bus, and splices. • Build pre‑bent cable, MTB, and control panel harnesses using cable boards and crimp lugs. • Modify standard assemblies or doors, including hole cutouts, using hand or power tools. • Perform required wiring changes. • Operate floor‑mounted overhead and jib cranes to move units, harnesses, and panels. • Assess work quality, report issues, and maintain piece counts and records. • Mark wires, devices, and terminals; apply identification labels and maintain documentation. • Wear required safety equipment and follow hygiene standards throughout the process.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least three months of manufacturing experience, and reside within 50 miles of the Fayetteville, NC facility (active‑duty military service members are exempt). The position requires the ability to read wiring schematics, use hand tools in a lean environment, work flexible hours and overtime, and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 35 lb and reaching above shoulder level. Strong teamwork, self‑direction, and good vision with depth perception are also essential.
