About the Role
As a Senior Project Engineer in the GTA, you will support a major client by coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, guiding complex construction initiatives, and ensuring successful delivery of high‑impact capital projects. The role is hybrid, with at least two days per week embedded on‑site to foster collaboration and problem‑solving. You will develop project concepts and scopes, define quality, budget, and schedule parameters, and prepare scope and construction review documents for stakeholder approval. Managing design progress from preliminary through detailed phases, you will lead review meetings, approve work plans, integrate constructability requirements, and conduct alternative analyses and life‑cycle cost assessments. Your responsibilities include overseeing preparation of construction contract documents, supervising technical specification development, managing contract changes, and leading close‑out documentation and as‑built coordination. You will also prepare project summary sheets, justification reports, and various administration documents such as work plans, change orders, and status reports. • Develop project concepts and define scope of work aligned with stakeholder requirements. • Set quality standards, budget parameters, schedule expectations, and scope breakdowns. • Prepare and obtain approval for scope and construction review documents. • Manage design progress from preliminary to detailed phases and lead constructability reviews. • Approve engineering work plans ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget. • Integrate constructability and maintainability requirements across all departments. • Conduct alternative analyses, engineering studies, and life‑cycle cost assessments. • Oversee preparation of construction contract documents and technical specifications. • Supervise specification development and provide engineering support during construction. • Manage contract changes, ensure technical compliance, and lead close‑out documentation. • Prepare project summary sheets, justification reports, and coordinate budgeting. • Draft project administration documents: work plans, change orders, procurement requests, status reports.

What You Bring
The role requires a Professional Engineering license (PEO) or Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) license, 7+ years of experience delivering engineering and construction projects in a transit environment, and hands‑on experience with heavy construction or large multidisciplinary capital programs. You must understand the Construction Act, contracting processes, and be skilled in stakeholder management, technical contract documentation, and Microsoft Office tools. • Hold a Professional Engineering (PEO) or Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) license. • Bring 7+ years of experience delivering transit‑related engineering and construction projects. • Demonstrate hands‑on experience with heavy construction or large multidisciplinary capital programs. • Understand the Construction Act, contracting processes, and inspection practices. • Skilled at managing complex stakeholder groups and navigating technical and schedule requirements. • Proficient in preparing and reviewing technical contract documents, scopes, and specifications. • Experienced with Microsoft Office and common engineering project administration tools.
