Diesel Mechanic 1st Shift - $1500 Sign On Bonus
Maintain and repair diesel/CNG trucks and equipment for waste management fleet.
Job Highlights
About the Role
You will work the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekend obligations. The primary worksite is the repair and maintenance shop at WM’s North Jackson, Ohio hauling location. Each day you will service trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers, maintaining both diesel and, at select sites, CNG‑powered vehicles using modern tools and procedures to ensure reliable operation for the community. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts. • Perform repairs within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls. • Conduct safety checks on all vehicles. • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair time. • Assist senior mechanics with project work. • Review and address repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. • Participate in a company‑matched 401(k) plan and annual education assistance benefit.
