About the Role
Key duties include preparing and submitting Estidama certification documentation, maintaining detailed sustainability records, conducting energy and water modeling, overseeing implementation of renewable energy and water recycling, and performing site inspections to verify compliance with waste management, material sourcing, and air‑quality requirements. The engineer also serves as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, provides training on sustainable construction, and supports the final certification and handover phases while aligning measures with health and safety regulations. • Ensure project compliance with the Pearl Building Rating System (PBRS) and Estidama requirements. • Collaborate with architects, designers, consultants, suppliers, and contractors to embed sustainable practices. • Specify and incorporate energy‑efficient systems, water‑saving technologies, and eco‑friendly materials. • Prepare and submit all documentation needed for Estidama certification. • Maintain comprehensive records of sustainability calculations, measures, and compliance reports. • Perform energy modeling and water‑efficiency analyses to meet Estidama standards. • Integrate renewable energy sources and water‑recycling systems where feasible. • Oversee implementation of sustainability measures during construction phases. • Conduct site inspections to verify waste management, material sourcing, and air‑quality compliance. • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities on sustainability matters. • Deliver training and awareness sessions on sustainable construction for contractors and workers. • Ensure operational sustainability requirements such as system commissioning, indoor environmental quality, and handover documentation are satisfied. • Assist in obtaining final Estidama certification after project completion. • Align sustainability initiatives with health and safety regulations. • Stay current on Abu Dhabi sustainability regulations and industry best practices. • Propose innovative solutions to enhance the project’s environmental performance.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as environmental, civil, mechanical engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, sustainability, or environmental science, and possess at least 12 years of related experience. Strong written and oral communication skills, proficiency with CAD and other software, experience on large civil/structural or industrial projects, and an Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional (PQP) certification are required, along with knowledge of local regulations and construction site experience. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, civil, mechanical, architecture, landscape architecture, sustainability, or environmental science. • Possess a minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience. • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication abilities. • Be proficient with CAD and other PC software packages. • Have experience delivering large civil/structural or industrial construction projects. • Be an Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional (PQP) or hold an equivalent credential. • Possess hands‑on construction site experience and knowledge of local regulations.
