About the Role
Key responsibilities include providing remote phone support to field technicians, traveling up to 75% domestically and internationally, troubleshooting server hardware failures, recovering Veeder‑Root system issues, and monitoring system performance and data integrity. The engineer will also conduct backups, document resolutions, train operators, report status updates, and participate in program tier meetings. • Provide phone support to field technicians to resolve issues remotely • Troubleshoot server hardware errors, including hard drive failures • Recover and manage Veeder‑Root system failures • Monitor system performance, data integrity, and communication health • Conduct full system backups and restore operations • Document all steps and procedures used to resolve issues • Train operators on system usage as needed • Report status updates to Operations Managers • Attend and contribute to program tier meetings • Control system networking in secure, air‑gapped environments

What You Bring
The AFHE Networked Control Systems Engineer will oversee fueling system maintenance, modifications, and installations across more than 20 global sites. This role blends control theory with IT networking to manage automated controllers, sensors, and actuators, ensuring efficient and reliable industrial fluid smart‑systems. Proficiency in PLCs, HMIs, networking hardware, and Python automation is required, along with experience in fuel or water/wastewater industries. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with a high‑school diploma, possess knowledge of Veeam, Microsoft SQL Server, and Veeder‑Root systems, and have at least six years of experience with complex software, SCADA configuration, and industrial control networking in secure, air‑gapped environments. Additional requirements include the ability to obtain a NACLC security clearance, strong Microsoft Office skills, effective time management, and excellent communication abilities. Preferred qualifications include a BSE or related engineering degree, Windows 2012 certification, experience with Dell or Stratus servers, and five plus years supporting automated fuel handling or water/waste‑water equipment. • Travel up to 75% domestically and internationally for training and maintenance • U.S. citizenship and high‑school diploma or equivalent • Knowledge of Veeam and other historian software • Broad knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Veeder‑Root systems • Familiarity with ring‑server setups • 6+ years experience with systems analysis, architecture, support, test, and logistics • Experience with server rack RAID architecture and industrial control software (Wonderware/ArchestrA) • SCADA system configuration and HMI setup using thick clients • Ability to obtain NACLC security clearance and government CAC • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite for administrative and project tasks • Strong time‑management, written, and verbal communication skills • Preferred: BSE or related Software Engineering degree • Preferred: Windows Server 2012 (or newer) certification • Preferred: Experience with Dell or Stratus servers • Preferred: 5+ years supporting automated fuel handling or water/waste‑water equipment in air‑gap environments
