About the Role

The Relief Driver – CDL (A) safely operates a heavy commercial truck, tractor‑trailer, or straight truck to deliver and remove large containers. The driver must ensure the vehicle meets all safety standards, adhere to company, state and federal regulations, and complete daily vehicle condition reports. Responsibilities include pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, route navigation, loading and compacting waste, interacting courteously with customers, performing minor container repairs, monitoring waste and vehicle condition, and maintaining productivity and safety standards. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues. • Operate the truck safely along assigned routes, following route sheets and maps. • Load, lift, and compact waste using manual or automatic controls. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues. • Perform minor repairs on containers on‑site or in the yard. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per procedures. • Monitor waste for prohibited materials and clean accidental spills safely. • Keep the vehicle clean and ready, removing waste from containers each trip. • Complete route productivity sheets, VCRs, and other required reports. • Meet department productivity standards and adhere to all safety policies. • Participate actively in the ReSOP safety program. • Follow company policies, promote safety, and avoid inappropriate risks. • Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and honesty. • Participate in health and dependent care spending accounts.

What You Bring

Candidates should possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s license with air‑brake endorsement and preferably two years of commercial truck experience. Strong customer service, time management, follow‑through, and mechanical aptitude are required. The role offers an hourly wage ranging from $23.55 to $35.35, with the exact rate dependent on location, and is a DOT‑position. • Manage time effectively to complete assignments safely and efficiently. • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude for minor container repairs. • Hold a Class A CDL with air‑brake endorsement. • Possess at least two years of commercial truck driving experience (preferred).
