Project Consultant

About the Role

• Serve as primary point of contact for NV5 team, Owner, Architect, and design team members; coordinate work across teams. • Contribute to project design discussions, offering forward‑thinking technology perspectives. • Prepare strategic technology plans, reports, design notes, and other project communications. • Engage clients in programmatic discussions to define project goals and requirements. • Guide clients through technology selection and devise cost‑effective audiovisual solutions. • Coordinate creation and delivery of technology drawings with architects, engineers, and designers. • Facilitate pre‑bid and post‑bid review meetings. • Review shop drawing submittals and other project documentation. • Conduct site walk‑throughs to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and best practices. • Manage multidisciplinary projects that may include AV, IT, security, lighting, and acoustics. • Ensure project delivery is on‑time, within budget, and meets NV5’s high quality standards.

What You Bring

The Audiovisual Consultant leads a team delivering consulting and design services, managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and top‑quality results. This remote position is open to major markets beyond those listed. Candidates must satisfy end‑user needs, deliver high‑caliber outcomes without direct supervision, and may be required to travel overnight and navigate construction sites. • Minimum ten years of audiovisual experience preferred. • Extensive knowledge of audiovisual system design, deployment, and operation (projection, sound, conferencing, signal processing, routing, control systems). • Understanding of audiovisual architectural requirements such as sightline studies, structural support, cabling pathways, and equipment integration. • General knowledge of IT services, digital media delivery, network hardware, infrastructure, and system architecture. • Experience with higher‑education projects preferred. • Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor or as part of a team. • Professional, positive attitude in fast‑paced, occasionally high‑pressure environments. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and BlueBeam. • Preferred certifications: CTS, CTS‑D, CTS‑I, or other industry‑related credentials.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 annually, adjusted for knowledge, skills, and experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k), and professional development opportunities.
