Job Highlights
About the Role
You will inspect and Hi‑Pot switchboard products produced on all lines according to inspection work instructions and applicable governmental requirements, confirming proper function, identifying non‑conformances, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications, safety and quality standards. You will document inspections, perform electrical testing with Hi‑Pot, continuity and component‑specific devices, verify torqued connections with a torque wrench, and conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety procedures. Additionally, you will examine mating structures, incorporate released revisions, update paperwork such as POM and test reports, include necessary component literature, and thoroughly communicate non‑conformances and design errors for corrective action. • Inspect switchboard products on all lines per work instructions and government regulations. • Perform Hi‑Pot, continuity, and component‑specific electrical tests; verify torqued connections with a torque wrench. • Conduct electrical and mechanical safety tests according to established procedures. • Examine and verify mating structures to ensure job completeness and correct field installation. • Ensure revisions are incorporated; update POM, test reports, and include component literature. • Document and communicate non‑conformances, coordinate required rework, and relay design errors to front‑end personnel. • Identify suspect product to prevent unintended use.

What You Bring
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with an associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics preferred, and a minimum of two years of manufacturing experience. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, reside within a 50‑mile radius of the Sumter facility, and possess knowledge of basic electricity, UL/NEC codes, and the ability to read manufacturing documents. The position involves a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with high accountability and does not include relocation assistance. • Hold a high school diploma or GED; associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics preferred. • Minimum two years of manufacturing experience. • Knowledge of basic electricity, component functionality, and assembled switchboard designs. • Familiarity with UL, NEC, regional utility and customer‑specific codes. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents, drawings, wiring diagrams, and testing procedures. • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and reside within a 50‑mile radius of Sumter.
