About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist for our Niceville, FL office to support the Environmental business line on federal projects. The role involves applying scientific principles, preparing technical plans and reports, conducting data analyses, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will collect and manage environmental samples, evaluate contaminants, and provide technical expertise while coordinating with project managers and field staff. • Apply scientific principles to develop solutions for limited‑scope technical problems. • Prepare technical work plans, reports, and scientific documents. • Interpret and analyze data to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. • Plan, execute, analyze, and report on environmental measures in natural systems. • Collect soil, vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples; manage chain‑of‑custody and shipping. • Study contaminants and recommend remediation strategies. • Perform unsupervised field tasks and direct staff in task execution. • Review analytical data for quality indicators based on established guidelines. • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and field staff for sampling and documentation. • Provide technical expertise and support throughout projects.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related discipline and at least four years of relevant experience are required, along with a valid U.S. driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, professional registration, OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification, and proficiency with GIS, CAD, and database tools. The position requires occasional travel within the United States, the ability to work outdoors in varied weather, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 lb and operate a full‑size pickup. • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science (or related) + 4 years experience; valid U.S. driver’s license. • Preferred: Master’s degree, professional registration, OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification (or obtain within 6 months), GIS/CAD/database skills. • Ability to travel for fieldwork/meetings and work outdoors in various weather conditions. • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, operate a full‑size pickup, and wear a respirator if needed.
