About the Role
The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is responsible for prospecting, closing new sales and managing existing relationships to meet or exceed budgeted sales and profitability goals. The role "save, secure, and convert" by handling cancellations, educating customers on contracts, and securing agreements during face‑to‑face interactions. The position requires residency in the greater San Diego area and involves frequent customer site visits with the remainder of the week spent in the area office. • Initiate and develop B2B sales relationships to acquire new waste streams, services, and products. • Manage existing accounts, resolve cancellation requests, and execute retention strategies to preserve and grow billable value. • Conduct retention calls and propose solutions that improve customer service and profitability while complying with regulations. • Communicate pricing, competition, and service strategies; refer additional WM business opportunities internally. • Prepare complex proposals, recommend equipment optimization and leasing options, and stay informed on internal strategies and market trends. • Collaborate with Plant Managers and Brokerage Account Managers to upgrade materials and achieve plant profitability goals. • Work primarily in a professional office environment using standard office equipment.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience) and at least 4 years of B2B sales, cold‑calling, and phone prospecting experience. • Proven ability to meet sales call activity and revenue targets. • Frequent customer site visits in the San Diego territory and occasional travel requiring a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative.

Benefits
The hybrid role offers a base salary estimated between $70,265 and $82,000, plus eligibility for incentive pay.
