About the Role

Interns will support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills, learning basic principles of engineering geology or geophysics. Responsibilities include assisting with project research, field work, preliminary design calculations and analysis, preparing design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates, as well as collecting and maintaining project documentation. What You Bring

Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited geological sciences, geophysics, or related undergraduate program with an expected graduation of August 2026 or later, be at least 18 years old, and possess a driver’s license. Applicants should be willing to spend up to 60 % of their time in the field, demonstrate strong interest in engineering geology or geophysics, and have effective interpersonal and communication skills for both engineering and non‑engineering audiences. Required competencies include taking direction from mentors, basic technical writing and software proficiency, a proven safety record, and authorization to work in the United States. • Enroll in an accredited Geological Sciences, Geophysics, or related undergraduate program graduating Aug 2026 or later • Be 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license • Willing to work up to 60% of time in the field • Demonstrate strong interest in engineering geology/geophysics and effective communication skills • Proficient in technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets • Authorized to work in the United States • Pursuing a master’s or PhD in Engineering Geology, Geophysics, or a related field (preferred) • Previous internship experience and campus leadership involvement (preferred)

The 12‑week internship is part of WSP’s Summer Internship Program, scheduled to begin on May 18, 2026, with a flexible start date. This temporary, full‑time position is open to individuals currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Please note that the role does not include relocation or housing assistance. Preferred candidates are enrolled in a master’s or PhD program, have prior internship experience, and have demonstrated leadership involvement on campus. The internship offers an hourly salary ranging from $20.87 to $29.73, with the possibility of additional benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement savings.
