About the Role

The position involves defining sensor architecture for HVAC and BMS applications, leading integration of sensors into embedded and cloud‑connected platforms, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while collaborating with cross‑functional and international teams. • Define and develop sensor architecture for HVAC and BMS applications. • Evaluate, select, and integrate sensor technologies based on performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory compliance. • Lead sensor integration into embedded systems and cloud‑connected platforms. • Design sensor placement, calibration strategies, and signal‑conditioning circuits for real‑world environments. • Specify sensor interfaces and communication protocols (analog 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, BACnet MSTP, Modbus, Zigbee, LoRa, BLE). • Ensure sensor solutions meet ASHRAE, ISO, UL, CE and other industry standards. • Collaborate with product managers, hardware engineers, firmware teams, and global teams in Bangalore and Montreal. • Scout and evaluate new sensor technologies and vendors, acting as technical liaison. • Develop and validate sensor solutions for indoor air quality, differential pressure, gas sensing, and refrigerant leak detection. • Write and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and calibration procedures. • Apply agile development practices and maintain effective stakeholder communication.

What You Bring

The architect will work closely with agile development global teams, particularly in Montreal and Bangalore, and act as the primary point of contact for sensor‑related decisions and innovations. We are looking for a positive, confident, and self‑motivated individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment and is passionate about developing next‑generation technologies that connect and empower our products and customers. • Core required skills: strong analog sensor and signal‑conditioning expertise; experience with environmental sensors (temperature, humidity, CO₂, VOC, particulate, gas); proficiency in RS‑485, BACnet MSTP, Modbus; familiarity with embedded microcontroller interfaces. • Additional skills: knowledge of wireless protocols (Zigbee, BLE, Thread, 802.15.4), SDLC, Git/GitHub, IoT platforms, EMC/EMI considerations, sensor modeling tools. • Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field; 12+ years in sensor design, integration or architecture; proven cross‑functional and international team experience; vendor evaluation and technology scouting background.
