About the Role

The Controls Field Technician role in Aftermarket and Service operates with minimal supervision and focuses on on‑site equipment inspection, preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation. The technician solves highly complex problems, serves as a technical resource, and ensures proper functioning of HVAC control systems in the field. • Perform on‑site equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations for HVAC control systems. • Troubleshoot highly complex issues and serve as a technical resource for varied tasks. • Create and review submittals, read project specifications and MEP drawings, and document as‑builts and field changes. • Assemble Operation & Maintenance manuals and design graphic function blocks using company and customer standards. • Test program sequences, conduct functional system checkouts, and verify HVAC operating ranges. • Develop graphics, floor plans, and engineering deliverables per project documents. • Submit material orders and collaborate with the purchasing group. • Assist in developing functional checkpoint lists for commissioning and work with the Commissioning Agent. • Partner with sales to define equipment needs, project timelines, and maintain budgetary guidelines. • Provide company vehicle and eligibility for overtime compensation.

What You Bring

• Required: High School diploma or GED, 2+ years building automation/HVAC experience, ability to climb ladders over 8 ft and lift up to 50 lb, valid driver’s license. • Preferred: Associate/Bachelor degree or technical certificate in HVAC/Controls, knowledge of BAS, Carrier i‑Vu, Tridium, BACnet, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Suite, TCP/IP and wireless networking, strong written and verbal communication skills.
