About the Role

The incumbent will develop and execute litigation strategies, ensure statutory compliance, and deliver strategic legal advice across all business units. They will step in for existing lawyers during workload spikes, review tenders and contracts, and handle internal and external audit queries. Collaboration is central, with duties that include shaping company‑wide policies, standardising contract templates, monitoring emerging regulations, and driving cross‑border cooperation with the Global Legal & Integrity team. The role also involves organising compliance and ethics training and overseeing Code of Conduct governance. • Provide end‑to‑end legal support for Hitachi Energy Technology Services and Services Business Unit. • Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with business objectives. • Ensure 100 % statutory compliance and manage regulatory risk. • Review and negotiate tenders, contracts, and Management Instructions. • Step in for legal team members during workload spikes and project peaks. • Address internal and external audit queries related to legal matters. • Create and implement company‑wide policies, standard contracts, and procedures. • Monitor emerging legislation and advise on regulatory developments. • Organise and deliver Code of Conduct, compliance, and ethics training for employees. • Manage external counsel engagements and legal budgets. • Collaborate with Global Legal & Integrity team on cross‑border initiatives. • Advise senior leadership and business units on strategic legal matters.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold an LL.B. (LL.M. preferred) and have at least 12 years of post‑qualification experience, including five years as a senior in‑house counsel. Proven expertise in corporate and commercial law, litigation management, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation is required, alongside strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
