About the Role

The Industrial Mechanic reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining plant equipment. The role involves working closely with the production department, servicing and troubleshooting production and support equipment, and providing project support, preventive, and predictive maintenance. Key duties include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing timely repairs on presses, sanders, and conveyor systems, and conducting routine inspections to prevent downtime. Detailed records of all maintenance activities and repairs are kept. Scheduled preventive maintenance tasks are executed through the CMMS, with a focus on identifying wear and recommending proactive solutions to extend equipment life. The mechanic collaborates with engineering and production teams to modify existing installations, assist in the setup and commissioning of new machinery, and suggest process improvements that enhance productivity and safety. • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on production machinery. • Perform routine inspections and corrective actions to prevent downtime. • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance using CMMS. • Identify wear and recommend proactive solutions to extend equipment life. • Collaborate with engineering and production to modify installations and commission new equipment. • Suggest and implement process improvements for productivity and safety. • Communicate maintenance status and priorities to supervisors and production staff. • Adhere to safety protocols and participate in safety audits. • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.

What You Bring

Effective communication with supervisors and production staff is essential to report maintenance status and priorities. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, participation in safety audits, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (technical certification or associate degree preferred), at least three years of industrial equipment maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and strong mechanical aptitude. Candidates must be knowledgeable in hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, and electrical systems, able to read blueprints and technical manuals, proficient with hand and power tools, and comfortable using diagnostic equipment and CMMS. Availability for overtime and on‑call duties, including weekends, is required. • High school diploma/GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. • 3+ years of industrial equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing. • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, and electrical systems. • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment; CMMS experience a plus. • Available for overtime and on‑call duties, including weekends.
