About the Role

The Plant Maintenance Technician monitors and maintains all plant systems and equipment, such as balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts and bearings. The role responds to system failures, taking corrective action or assigning repairs to keep systems safe and efficient. The position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. • Perform repairs following WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA regulations. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment such as balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electromagnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front‑end loaders, and building equipment. • Maintain Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog. • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager of additional work or delays beyond Standard Repair Times (SRTs). • Inspect quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds. • Recommend measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality. • Multi‑task and manage multiple priorities. • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls. • Follow a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to support operations. • Keep work area clean and safe, complying with corporate and OSHA standards.

What You Bring

The job involves working inside gas plant conditions and outdoors in inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
