About the Role
The role involves various landfill tasks such as manually collecting windblown paper, operating a mobile vacuum to remove loose refuse, directing truck traffic during peak seasons, lifting construction materials, and separating recyclables like metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Collect windblown paper manually and deposit it in bags. • Operate mobile vacuum tractor to suction loose refuse along landfill borders. • Direct truck traffic at landfill entrances during high‑volume periods using verbal and hand signals. • Lift and transport construction materials such as lumber and concrete mix; use hand tools (shovels, picks, axes, chainsaws). • Separate and sort metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Maintain required licenses per local, state, federal, environmental, and health/safety regulations. • Perform physically demanding tasks with accommodations available as needed.
