About the Role
The Sorter is responsible for properly placing and sorting materials on the conveyor line. Duties include inspecting, separating, and feeding wastepaper, removing contaminants, and keeping the work area clean while following standard operating procedures. • Inspect and sort materials by type, size, condition, color, or paper grade. • Remove contaminants from paper and the work floor. • Stack and dump boxes, skids, and totes as needed. • Feed wastepaper and other material onto the conveyor line. • Clean and maintain the conveyor and surrounding sorting area. • Monitor machine start‑up and ensure operation at a moderate speed. • Follow standard operating procedures for equipment use and maintenance. • Report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly. • Attend weekly or monthly safety and operations meetings. • Provide guidance to less‑experienced sorters when required.

The role combines office‑like tasks (using computers, phones, and copy machines) with plant work in a mixed environment.
