About the Role
Under general supervision, the Quality Inspector applies skills and knowledge to determine the degree of conformance of materials, equipment, and installations to Wanzek or client specifications. The role involves inspecting various project activities, generating reports on conditions found, notifying management of significant problems, and completing documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities. The position promotes and complies with all company safety policies while inspecting and ensuring the quality of work across large‑scale wind, solar, and industrial projects, including roads, environmental measures, excavations, concrete, substations, transmission lines, solar racking, PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, and compressors. The inspector must plan and conduct daily activities in an organized manner, accurately record QC and QA data, monitor work scope, perform pre‑construction quality control inspections, detect and address deficiencies, act as a field representative for quality staff, maintain open communication with field supervision, keep complete inspection records, establish punch lists, verify equipment calibration, meet daily schedules, interact cross‑functionally, maintain a professional appearance, and perform other assigned duties. • Promote and comply with all company safety policies and procedures. • Inspect and ensure quality of work on large‑scale wind, solar, and industrial projects (roads, SWPPP, excavations, concrete, substations, transmission lines, solar racking, PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors). • Plan and conduct daily activities, accurately recording QC and QA data. • Monitor and record work scope daily, following FQM/client reporting criteria. • Perform pre‑construction quality control inspections to prevent deficiencies. • Detect and address deficiencies promptly. • Act as field representative for quality staff, ensuring adherence to QA/QC requirements. • Communicate with field supervision to track job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance. • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for hard copy or electronic files. • Inspect work and establish punch lists. • Determine calibration status of measuring and test equipment. • Ensure daily task schedules meet project timelines. • Interact cross‑functionally with craft personnel and team members. • Maintain a professional appearance. • Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures. • Write daily reports and document project activities. • Collect and record field data to ensure compliance with quality control procedures. • Implement quality control program for assigned tasks.

What You Bring
Qualifications include an associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 1‑3 years of related construction experience. Inspection certifications such as NDE are preferred. The candidate must be committed to safety, able to work independently, organized, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Required abilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, writing daily reports, collecting and recording field data, implementing quality control programs, and solving problems individually or within a team. Preferred skills are basic algebra, geometry, and calculations of area, circumference, and volume. • Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field; or high school diploma/GED with 1‑3 years construction experience. • Inspection certifications (e.g., NDE) preferred. • Ability to work independently as a self‑starter. • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. • Preferred: calculate area, circumference, volume; apply basic algebra and geometry. • Problem‑solving skills individually and in team settings.

Compensation ranges from $19.00 to $22.00 hourly, commensurate with experience, and includes performance reviews and merit increases.
