About the Role
• Manage overall construction activities and assign tasks. • Coordinate with other departments to secure materials, equipment, and inspections per schedule. • Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and managing labor, equipment, materials, tools, consumables, and site conditions. • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability. • Create, review, and update project schedule and three‑week look‑ahead. • Coordinate plans and specifications with engineers, clarifying discrepancies. • Develop and implement site utilization plan and determine crew sizes. • Select formwork systems and equipment. • Conduct pre‑construction planning sessions and site meetings. • Supervise work crews and provide oversight. • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, foremen, and assistant superintendents. • Foster a teamwork environment and ensure crews have resources and support. • Provide work direction and conduct performance evaluations. • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, performance management, and dismissals. • Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities. • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on site. • Manage open‑shop and union issues. • Maintain relationships with visitors such as customers, architects, union representatives, and subcontractors. • Manage site logistics efficiently and suggest improvements.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking a Senior Superintendent I who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, remaining flexible, proactive, and professional. The role requires anticipating problems, creatively solving issues, and providing coordination of on‑site work activities for multiple or large, complex construction projects. The Superintendent will supervise work teams, ensure resources are available, and uphold Mortenson’s high standards of confidentiality and safety. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience. • Minimum 15 years of construction experience. • Minimum 10 years in a supervisory role. • Experience with solar or large industrial power projects. • Ability to manage multiple complex projects. • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency. • Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license. • Willingness to travel up to 100 %.

The position offers a base salary ranging from $144,300 to $216,500, with higher ranges for locations like Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C., and includes eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
