About the Role
Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Construction Manager/Site Superintendent – Energy Performance to work full‑time at a Federal Government client site located 30 minutes south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The position will manage an Energy Savings Performance Contract construction schedule of roughly 18‑24 months, with potential extensions based on additional work scopes. The role is responsible for on‑site supervision, coordination, and execution of construction activities, ensuring safety, compliance with Canadian laws and standards, schedule adherence, and alignment with guaranteed energy performance design outcomes. • Supervise and lead on‑site construction activities, providing full‑time presence and coordinating subcontractors, trades, and site personnel. • Conduct daily inspections to verify progress, workmanship, safety, and housekeeping; manage work sequencing and logistics to prevent delays. • Plan and oversee outages, shutdowns, and system tie‑ins in coordination with facility operations. • Support procurement by reviewing tender documents, identifying gaps, and assisting with contractor walkthroughs and material inspections. • Implement and enforce the Site Project Health & Safety Plan, lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations. • Oversee construction of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) such as HVAC, electrical, controls, lighting, and renewable energy systems, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications. • Manage subcontractor performance through kickoff meetings, daily work plans, productivity monitoring, and resolution of trade conflicts. • Track construction progress against schedule, identify risks, and implement mitigation or recovery actions; assist with quantity tracking, cost control, and change management. • Enforce quality assurance, coordinate commissioning readiness, manage punch‑list resolution, and verify completion of as‑built documentation and training materials. • Act as on‑site point of contact for the ESCO team, lead coordination meetings, provide regular site reports, look‑ahead schedules, and risk updates to stakeholders. • Support Indigenous engagement plans and monitor related participation metrics. • Travel to multiple client facilities across Saskatchewan as required and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada, hold a valid provincial driver’s licence, and be able to obtain a Federal Reliability Status security clearance. A minimum of five years’ experience in commercial building electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction management—particularly in complex facility infrastructure retrofits, deep energy upgrades, and building controls—is required. Additional qualifications include experience on Federal Government of Canada projects, familiarity with National Master Specification (NMS) documents, knowledge of safety standards such as COR or ISO 45001, and strong project‑management, risk‑assessment, and leadership skills. A current First Aid certification, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and strong communication abilities are also required. • Legal right to work in Canada without sponsorship and a valid provincial driver’s licence. • Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Reliability Status security clearance. • Minimum five years’ experience in commercial building electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction management, focusing on complex infrastructure retrofits and deep energy upgrades. • Prior experience on Federal Government of Canada projects and familiarity with National Master Specification (NMS) tender documents. • Knowledge of safety standards such as COR, ISO 45001, or equivalent, and current First Aid certification. • Demonstrated project‑management expertise, risk assessment, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project) and strong verbal and written communication skills. • Recognition as a leader in North America and the United Kingdom delivering comprehensive energy services.
