About the Role
This skilled position involves installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing fire alarm systems, access control, and CCTV systems, as well as other related building system products at customer sites. Tasks include panel repair/reprogram, device replacement/repair, resolving low‑voltage circuit issues, and system testing. The role requires organizing technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of all assigned tasks, with a primary focus on networked fire alarm systems. You will perform installation and programming on integrated security and fire alarm systems, respond promptly to customer service calls, and provide after‑hours support as needed. Communication with central dispatch will keep work order status updated, while you read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and manuals to guide installations. Supervision and inspection of equipment installations will ensure compliance with customer and contract specifications, and you will complete required certification courses and submit all task‑related documentation in a timely manner. • Install, program, commission, and service fire alarm, access control, and CCTV systems at customer sites. • Perform panel repairs, device replacements, low‑voltage troubleshooting, and system testing. • Respond promptly to service calls, including after‑hours support, and communicate status with central dispatch. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and manuals to ensure correct installations. • Supervise and inspect equipment installations to meet contract specifications. • Complete required certification courses and submit all task documentation timely.

What You Bring
The position requires at least four years of documented experience with low‑voltage electrical systems, including fire/life safety, access control, CCTV, and security systems, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in electronics, networking, or a related field is preferred. Physical demands include lifting 50‑70 lb, working at heights up to 40 ft, and navigating confined spaces, with flexible hours and possible overnight travel. Candidates must demonstrate strong customer service, safety compliance, and the ability to lead and work well with team members. Required skills include proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, digital analyzers, electronic test equipment, basic networking concepts, and familiarity with DOS and Windows. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass background and drug tests are essential. • Minimum 4 years experience with low‑voltage electrical systems (fire/life safety, access control, CCTV). • Proficient with hand tools, multimeters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices. • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred. • Ability to lift 50‑70 lb, work at heights up to 40 ft, and navigate confined spaces. • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record and ability to pass background/drug test. • Strong customer service, safety compliance, organizational and multitasking skills. • Knowledge of network concepts, DOS/Windows, and electronic test equipment.
