About the Role

Interns will support various engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills, including learning basic structural engineering principles, assisting with project research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates. What You Bring

The Buildings Team is seeking a full‑time Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 term in Irvine, CA. The temporary position is open to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, with a flexible start date within the 12‑week program beginning May 18, 2026. Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited Structural or Civil Engineering program (or related) with an anticipated graduation of August 2026 or later, be at least 18 years old, and authorized to work in the United States. Required skills include strong interest in structural engineering, effective interpersonal and communication abilities, proficiency with technical writing and office software, and a proven commitment to workplace safety. • Must be enrolled in an accredited Structural or Civil Engineering program graduating August 2026 or later. • Demonstrate strong communication skills and proficiency with technical writing and office software. • Ability to follow direction from mentors and uphold workplace safety policies. • Preferred: Master’s/PhD enrollment, AutoCAD or Revit experience, prior internship or campus leadership.
