About the Role
Key responsibilities include submitting and monitoring permit requests (HRM/DOT, water, sewer, gas, Aliant, Rogers, 360 Network, environmental, engineering approvals), issuing joint‑use forms, creating work orders, and releasing/booking final staking. The coordinator also updates customer easements in Property Online, follows outage processes, and ensures accurate account, project and task numbers. Additional duties involve managing underground locate requirements, updating work orders with diagrams, returning completed forms to customers, and handling internal and external cable locates. The role requires requesting and quoting external contractor services (tree trimming, Grade 1 assessments), releasing work at various stages, and overseeing Make Ready and Aliant work processes with month‑end invoicing. The coordinator processes attachment fees, credit in lieu of overhead, developer rebates, and manages the quoting process of work orders. Safety responsibility includes personal and coworker safety compliance with Occupational Health and Safety rules, and flexibility for overtime during peak seasons and emergency restorations. • Submit and monitor HRM/DOT and utility permit requests, issue joint‑use forms, create and release work orders for final staking. • Update customer easements in Property Online and ensure accurate account, project and task numbers during outages. • Manage underground locate requirements, update work orders with diagrams, and handle internal & external cable locates. • Request, quote and release external contractor services such as tree trimming and Grade 1 assessments. • Oversee Make Ready and Aliant work processes, including month‑end invoicing to Aliant and CATV companies. • Process attachment fees, credits in lieu of overhead, and developer rebates; manage work order quoting. • Ensure personal and coworker safety compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations; be available for overtime and emergency restoration.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have Grade XII education or a post‑secondary business credential, at least five years of customer service and operational experience, strong mathematical, analytical and organizational skills, and a proven record of exceptional customer service. Proficiency with NS Power’s work management tools (Maximo, Orcom CIS, Infoview, SharePoint, ViryaNet, Smartsheet, Oracle, Adobe suite, Property Online, Info‑Excavation) and MS Excel is required. Candidates must communicate complex information effectively across written, phone and in‑person channels, and possess knowledge of the Aliant Work Request, Joint Use, Make Ready, job pricing/estimation and financial calculations for contributed line rebates. Familiarity with distribution line work management, third‑party attachment and contributed line rebates is an asset. • Hold Grade XII or post‑secondary business education with ≥5 years customer service/operational experience. • Demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical, organizational and detail‑oriented skills. • Proficient in Maximo, Orcom CIS, Infoview, SharePoint, ViryaNet, Smartsheet, Oracle, Adobe suite, Property Online, Info‑Excavation and advanced MS Excel. • Communicate complex information effectively in writing, by phone and in person while maintaining positive customer experience. • Knowledge of Aliant Work Request, Joint Use, Make Ready processes, job pricing/estimation and contributed line rebate calculations. • Familiarity with NS Power distribution line work management and third‑party attachment processes.
