About the Role
The Safety Specialist 2 will coordinate and implement the field safety program for both routine and increasingly complex construction projects, conducting inspections, documenting hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis. The role follows directions and refers all exceptions to a supervisor, with a career path leading to Senior Safety Specialist. • Coordinate and implement the field safety program for construction projects. • Conduct walk‑through inspections to ensure compliance with laws and company policies. • Perform safety audits, document hazards, and recommend abatement measures. • Use internal safety management systems to record findings and track corrective actions. • Lead new‑hire safety orientation and enforce drug‑ and alcohol‑policy compliance. • Monitor prime contractor and subcontractor safety program implementation. • Participate in pre‑planning and progress meetings to discuss safety issues. • Support field leadership and chair project safety committees. • Investigate accidents, determine root causes, and suggest process improvements. • Coordinate injured employees’ treatment and compile injury progress reports. • Oversee site safety incentive program. • Apply advanced safety knowledge to resolve complex hazards. • Provide project‑specific safety recommendations based on equipment, laws, and processes. • Communicate actively in meetings and provide guidance to teams. • Perform trend analysis using safety data to identify problem areas and recommend solutions. • Deliver guidance and training on basic and intermediate safety topics. • Assist with insurance audits and oversee complex or multiple projects. • Perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. • Enforce federal, state, local, and company safety regulations. • Recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures. • Build collaborative relationships across project teams.

What You Bring
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. • Proficient in MS Office and company safety software (intermediate level). • Possess required construction technology proficiency. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in safety/health (or equivalent experience). • Have at least 2 years of construction safety experience.
