About the Role
The role involves installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment such as packing pumps and valves, disconnecting and connecting insulated pipes, welding, and operating machine tools where close tolerances are not required. Primary duties include assisting higher‑classified mechanics by disassembling and assembling equipment, rolling and expanding tubes, repairing and resealing valves, and performing maintenance and repair on buildings and equipment. • Assist senior mechanics with disassembly, assembly, tube rolling/expansion, valve repair, and resealing. • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair packing pumps, valves, insulated piping, and machine tools. • Perform building and equipment maintenance and repair tasks.

What You Bring
• Hold a high school diploma and pass pre‑employment testing. • Eligible for unescorted nuclear access and able to work varied shifts. • Meet one of the following: associate degree in a technical field; 2+ years of related mechanical military experience; 2+ years as a journeyperson pipefitter, boilermaker, or millwright; or equivalent industrial experience.
