Providing innovative energy solutions for a sustainable, electrified future.
Secondary Design Engineer- Gas Insulated Switchgear
Design LCC schematics for GIS and support engineering documentation
Job Highlights
About the Role
You will act as an individual contributor responsible for creating electrical circuit diagrams and supporting documentation, primarily using the E3 tool. While you will deliver tasks based on given inputs, you must also collaborate with colleagues and interact with other departments such as Primary, Project Management, and Production when required. In the absence of your Lead, you may need to clarify queries with internal counterparts. Key deliverables include preparing LCC schematics for high‑voltage GIS components such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, CT/VT, and junction boxes, as well as interlocking tables for various busbar configurations. You will generate preliminary BOMs, mimic boards, communication architecture diagrams, protection schematics, and complete digital LCC drawings for digital substations, adhering to applicable codes and QA/QC standards. You will also address technical queries from customers and review all documents before submission. • Create electrical circuit diagrams and supporting documents using the E3 tool. • Prepare LCC schematics for high‑voltage GIS components, including CBs, disconnectors, earthing switches, CT/VT, and junction boxes. • Generate interlocking tables and busbar configuration schematics. • Address technical queries from customers during project execution. • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams such as Primary, Project Management, and Production. • Self‑review documents before submission to the Lead Engineer. • Produce preliminary BOMs and mimic boards aligned with SLD and layout drawings. • Develop communication architecture and protection schematics. • Select Bay Control Units and basic protection IEDs. • Create complete digital LCC drawings for digital substations. • Design gas density monitoring panels using MSM. • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards and QA/QC policies. • Adhere to Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity core values.
