About the Role

The Head of Contracts and Governance will lead a dedicated team responsible for contract management, project controls and quality management across the Centrica Power project life‑cycle. Based in the UK Windsor office with hybrid working, the role ensures effective governance, robust controls and clear performance reporting in line with frameworks, policies and regulatory requirements, supporting contract development, negotiation and oversight. Accountable for the £350 million portfolio – projected to reach a £bn scale by 2026 – the role oversees contracts in execution, ensures robust governance and controls throughout the project life‑cycle, and works closely with commercial development, project managers, procurement, finance and legal teams, integrating with group governance activities. • Lead contract, supply chain, and quality management teams across Centrica Power projects. • Prepare, negotiate and finalize EPC, O&M, land and inter‑company contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. • Maintain a contract management system with standard templates and frameworks for efficiency. • Define contractual quality requirements and supplier assurance, embedding quality plans and acceptance criteria. • Develop and implement governance frameworks, stage‑gates, reporting templates and assurance processes. • Oversee project controls including cost, schedule, risk and performance reporting throughout the lifecycle. • Ensure alignment with Centrica corporate governance standards and UK/EU energy regulatory obligations. • Manage project, commercial, financial and regulatory risk through robust control frameworks and audit readiness. • Interface with Group governance forums such as the Investment Committee and Contracts Committee. • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration with legal, procurement and external partners. • Provide governance input to strategic initiatives like asset acquisitions, joint ventures and organic deployments.

What You Bring

• Senior experience in contract/commercial management, project controls or delivery within energy/infrastructure. • Proven ability to manage high‑value (£100 m‑£1 bn) asset delivery and supply‑chain contracts. • Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end project and investment lifecycles and governance frameworks. • Understanding of UK and EU energy regulatory frameworks. • Familiarity with contract management, governance and project controls tools. • Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
