About the Role

• Support senior urban designers and the Head of Urban Design on projects primarily at RIBA stages 0‑2. • Provide design assistance across varied project types. • Produce graphic materials and reports. • Manage small individual projects with team leadership support. • Expand Mace’s GIS capabilities. • Assist the Head of Urban Design and Design Director with continuous improvement programmes. • Explore innovative working methods and research to advance industry knowledge. • Develop early concept models using Autodesk Revit. • Coordinate with internal and external design teams and designers.

The team is seeking an Urban Designer to support its growing business on urban regeneration and community‑focused projects. The role is suitable for recent graduates or early‑career professionals with strong digital, graphic and GIS capabilities, based in Manchester or London, and who meet UK project requirements. Applicants must submit a portfolio, CV and a covering letter stating REViT/GIS/Adobe Suite proficiency and UK passport status. • Demonstrate creativity, collaboration, initiative, resilience and effective time management. • Deliver clear drawings, reports and presentations with strong graphic and communication skills. • Exhibit strong technical proficiency in Revit, Adobe Suite and GIS. • Possess solid understanding of the UK planning system and professional English communication. • Hold a degree in a built‑environment design field and an MA/MSc in Urban Design.
