About the Role
The Rocket Motor Production Specialist will join Parsons’ team to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures Chief Engineer office. The role focuses on developing next‑generation reentry vehicles, rocket motors, and counter‑measures to create realistic test environments for the nation’s missile defense systems. In this position you will provide expertise for a range of rocket motor launch‑vehicle systems, from short‑ to long‑range solid motors and, when needed, liquid systems. Responsibilities include tracking production plans, resolving anomalies, evaluating design, manufacturing, test and qualification programs, assessing thrust performance, and delivering independent reviews of commercial launch‑system capabilities for MDA flight‑test events. • Provide expertise for short‑ and long‑range rocket motor launch‑vehicle systems, focusing on solid motors and supporting liquid systems as needed. • Track motor production schedules, resolve production anomalies, and evaluate design, manufacturing, test, and qualification programs. • Assess thrust performance based on case and propellant design and recommend trade‑offs to senior leadership. • Conduct independent reviews of commercial launch‑system capabilities for MDA flight‑test events.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a master’s degree in a STEM field and have at least 12 years of experience on complex DoD or missile‑defense programs, along with an active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship. Required expertise includes solid‑rocket motor manufacturing, stress and loads analysis, propellant grain fabrication, metal and composite materials, finite‑element and CFD analysis, and familiarity with ground‑test operations. Desired experience includes prior work with MDA or DoD programs, knowledge of missile‑defense system targets and threats, use of Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools, and familiarity with explosive systems, aging surveillance programs, and small‑ordnance testing. • Hold a master’s degree in STEM, 12+ years on complex DoD/missile‑defense programs, and an active Secret clearance. • Demonstrate direct experience with manufacturing rocket motor components, stress/loads analysis, propellant grain fabrication, and FEM/CFD analysis. • Possess knowledge of metal and composite materials used in rocket motor design and ground‑test operations. • Preferred experience includes prior MDA/DoD program work, Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools, explosive systems on launch vehicles, and aging surveillance programs.
