About the Role

The Middle Level Tester role at AAON involves testing commercial HVAC systems to ensure they meet quality and production standards. The tester identifies and corrects issues, completing duties safely, timely, and in accordance with engineering specifications. Essential responsibilities include coordinating co‑workers’ tasks, ensuring production standards and schedules are met, training new employees, and managing parts availability. The tester operates recovery and refrigerant machines to remove Freon before leak repairs, runs test units to verify engineering specifications, and troubleshoots and repairs defects. Additional duties involve verifying that units are built according to work orders and specifications, performing wiring, brazing, and assembly as needed, and maintaining communication with management and other departments to ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery. • Test commercial HVAC units to verify compliance with quality and engineering standards. • Operate recovery and refrigerant equipment to remove Freon and repair leaks. • Troubleshoot, repair, and re‑test units to ensure they meet work order specifications. • Coordinate production activities, manage parts inventory, and align schedules with other departments. • Train new staff and ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols. • Perform wiring, brazing, and assembly tasks as needed. • Maintain clear communication with management and team members for timely delivery.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least vocational or technical training, an HVAC certificate, and 0‑5 years of industry experience. A 608 Universal EPA Refrigerant license is required, and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The role demands physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, stooping, and sitting for prolonged periods, with frequent visits to manufacturing facilities that expose workers to hot and cold temperatures, dust, and chemical fumes. • Hold a 608 Universal EPA Refrigerant license and an HVAC certificate. • Meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 lb and working in varied temperature and environmental conditions.
