About the Role

• Electrically troubleshoot and repair CNC, PLC, and relay‑logic machine tools and related equipment. • Service a variety of machines including Okuma, Mazak, Lamb, Landis grinders, P&H cranes, conveyors, furnaces, washers, and ABB robots. • Diagnose and maintain AC/DC analog and digital drives from Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Indramat. • Work with measurement and feedback devices such as Heidenhain encoders and inductosyn systems. • Apply intermediate‑to‑advanced proficiency in reading machine tool prints and schematics. • Utilize basic mechanical skills and hand tools to complete repairs efficiently.

What You Bring

You will electrically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools, CNC, PLC, and relay‑logic equipment. The role covers a wide array of machinery such as Okuma, Mazak, Lamb, Landis grinders, P&H cranes, conveyors, furnaces, ABB robots, and various CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat). Experience with AC/DC drives, measurement and feedback systems (Heidenhain, inductosyn) is also required. A minimum of three years of electrical repair experience on machine tools is required, along with the ability to read and interpret schematics. Candidates should possess basic mechanical skills, operate hand tools, and demonstrate self‑motivation and teamwork. Preferred qualifications include a certified electrician license and an Associate Degree in Industrial Automation. • Possess at least three years of relevant electrical repair experience in an industrial machine shop. • Hold a certified electrician license and/or an Associate Degree in Industrial Automation (preferred). • Meet physical requirements: lift 40 lb, stand 8+ hours, bend, climb, work at heights and in confined spaces, and pass a color‑blindness test.

The position is based in Lafayette, Indiana, on the Large Power Systems Division, with a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and a shift premium of 6 % for 2nd (3:30 pm‑11:30 pm) and 3rd (11:30 pm‑7:30 am) shifts. Hourly pay ranges from $37.40 to $47.60, with higher rates for experience, and includes relocation assistance, 40‑hour weeks, overtime, and 13 days of paid PTO. The job demands physical stamina: frequent bending, stooping, climbing, standing on concrete for 8 + hours, lifting up to 40 lb, and working at heights or in confined spaces, plus passing a color‑blindness test.
