About the Role
Our Transportation team is growing in Northern Ireland and we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer M&E to join our Rail team on a full‑time permanent contract. You will represent Mace while interfacing with key clients and ensure successful delivery of assignments, providing strategic direction and monitoring progress against the overall vision and objectives. • Coordinate work with other contractors. • Liaise with route engineers. • Participate in engineering and development assurance to deliver affordable, safe, and environmentally responsible schemes. • Review compliance with appropriate standards. • Apply risk identification methods (e.g., HAZOP, QRA) to evaluate and compare options. • Develop and assure the selected design option. • Prepare and manage the engineering assurance package for detailed design and respond to clarifications. • Carry out engineering verifications. • Manage engineering interfaces across multiple disciplines. • Produce and approve method statements for site works and surveys. • Verify competency of contractors’ design, construction and specialist personnel (CEM/CRE).

What You Bring
Within our consult business, we harness our unique combination of leading‑edge practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project. You will be required to work in the office three days per week with ad‑hoc travel to sites in and around Belfast. • Consider safety, reliability, maintainability, constructability and whole‑life issues in engineering assurance. • Chartered engineer status preferred, with a relevant degree and minimum five years of experience. • Able to undertake the role of Project Engineer (PE). • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and CSM 2013 regulations, especially asset protection requirements. • Understanding of Network Rail risk assessment process, including CSM‑RA.
