About the Role

The operative will join a busy responsive repairs contract, delivering high‑quality maintenance across a variety of trades in occupied social housing. The role requires adaptability, problem‑solving and a strong focus on customer service, as no two days are the same. Working on void and occupied properties, the operative will handle tasks such as installing kitchen units, repairing doors and fittings, addressing minor plumbing faults, conducting plastering, tiling and decorating work, and ensuring all repairs meet health and safety standards. • Carry out responsive repairs such as skirting boards, architraves, internal doors, and kitchen fittings. • Fix minor plumbing problems including leaks, dripping taps and blocked sinks. • Perform patch plastering, wall and ceiling repairs, and tile grouting and sealing. • Paint and decorate to a professional finish after repair work. • Work safely in occupied homes, respecting residents' privacy. • Participate in an out‑of‑hours emergency repair rota. • Record job details, materials and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets. • Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good condition. • Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets.

What You Bring

Candidates must have proven experience in plastering and domestic repairs across multiple trades, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work independently while managing their workload. Strong fault‑finding, communication, and the use of handheld job‑management devices are essential, as is willingness to take part in an out‑of‑hours emergency rota. • Proven experience in plastering and domestic repairs across carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating. • Full UK driving licence; must be over 21, licence held >3 months, fewer than 9 points. • Strong fault‑finding, problem‑solving and customer service skills. • Ability to work independently and use job‑management systems.
