About the Role
Operates various power‑driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials, including equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, cranes, draglines, front‑end loaders, motor graders, cherry pickers and dump trucks. • Set up and operate production equipment following guidelines. • Adjust machine settings to meet specifications accurately and promptly. • Control diesel, electric, gasoline or steam‑powered equipment using hand and foot levers. • Interpret hand signals to position materials. • Operate equipment on uneven surfaces when required. • Assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials during installation. • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. • Inspect load hook‑up for safety and determine load suitability. • Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction per instructions. • Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanisms. • Inspect crane for defects, document issues and notify supervisors. • Load, transport and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies. • Interpret load charts as needed. • Work under immediate supervision and follow pre‑established guidelines.

What You Bring
The position requires adherence to safety and project rules, observation of load hook‑up safety, and may involve routine maintenance, equipment cleaning, and minor repairs. Physical demands include standing, walking, and sitting for most of the shift, with occasional lifting (10 lb), carrying, pushing, pulling, and various movements such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling and fingering, performed with varying frequency. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience. • Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the field.
