About the Role
The Assembler role focuses on assembling, sub‑assembling, and packaging speed reducers or gear boxes. The position involves interpreting bills of materials, production orders, and engineering drawings to build components and complete units. Key tasks include assembling products using established methods, operating air impact wrenches, hand tools, arbor presses, and pneumatic/hydraulic presses, and performing special‑unit assembly from engineering prints. Assemblers thoroughly inspect each unit for correct assembly and appearance, operate overhead hoists, cranes or forklifts when required, and use liquid nitrogen for gear‑box assembly. They also run testing equipment, verify paint quality, label accuracy, and package finished units while completing daily documentation. • Assemble speed reducers and gear boxes from components • Perform sub‑assembly using engineering prints and blueprints • Operate air impact wrenches, hand tools, arbor presses, pneumatic and hydraulic presses • Use liquid nitrogen for gear‑box assembly • Inspect completed units for correct assembly, appearance, and paint quality • Run testing and air‑testing equipment on assembled units • Operate overhead hoist, crane, or forklift as needed • Verify label accuracy and package painted units correctly • Complete daily work documentation and reports • Follow lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement practices • Maintain safety compliance and wear required PPE • Work in environments with solvents, dust, noise, heat, and confined spaces • Participate in paid time off, holidays, and paid leaves

Critical competencies for success are a strong mechanical aptitude, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities, and an eye for detail. Candidates should be self‑directed, able to work under pressure to meet production goals, and comfortable applying lean manufacturing principles. Effective teamwork, adaptability, safety orientation, reliable attendance, and clear English communication are also essential. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, with two years of assembly experience preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and proficiency with power hand tools are strongly desired. The work is physically demanding, requiring frequent walking, standing, twisting, lifting up to 50 lb, and occasional climbing or pushing. The manufacturing setting involves exposure to solvents, dust, noise, heat, and other hazards, and mandates the use of personal protective equipment. • Apply mechanical aptitude and critical‑thinking to solve assembly issues • Demonstrate reliability, punctual attendance, and willingness to work overtime • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing • Possess high school diploma/GED; 2+ years assembly experience preferred • Experience with power hand tools and manufacturing environments • Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform frequent walking, standing, and twisting
