About the Role
The engineer will manage all phases of major underground and tunneling projects, from feasibility studies through final design and construction. Responsibilities include client communication, attending design and progress meetings, and coordinating technical efforts with client counterparts and partners. The role also leads engineering analysis for tunnels in soft ground, mixed conditions, and rock, applying TBM, drill‑and‑blast, and SEM methods, and develops support schemes based on rock and soil mechanics. Interpretation of geotechnical and geological data, classification of ground conditions, and derivation of engineering parameters are essential tasks. The engineer will produce geotechnical design reports, memos, and contract documents, including drawings and specifications, and will supervise junior engineers, providing guidance and mentorship. • Lead all phases of complex underground and tunneling projects from feasibility through construction. • Communicate with clients, respond to requests, and attend design and progress meetings. • Coordinate technical aspects with client counterparts and partnering firms across disciplines. • Perform engineering analysis for soft‑ground, mixed, and rock tunnels using TBM, drill‑and‑blast, and SEM methods. • Evaluate geotechnical and geological data to develop ground support schemes and engineering parameters. • Prepare geotechnical design reports, memos, drawings, and specifications for contract documents. • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold at least a master's degree in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering, possess a minimum of ten years of relevant tunnel design and construction experience, and have U.S. PE registration (or be able to obtain it within six months). Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to manage technical staff are required. • Hold a minimum M.S. in Geotechnical/Tunneling Engineering and 10+ years of tunnel design experience. • Maintain U.S. PE licensure (or obtain within six months) and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. • Preferred: Master's degree, 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification, and basic First Aid/CPR training.
