Lead civil engineer for road/highway projects in Southern California

About the Role
• Hire a Project Engineer to integrate engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and start‑up aspects for road and highway projects in Southern California. • Support multiple Caltrans, RCTC, METRO, and other regional projects in the Inland Empire and other California regions. • Manage a subtask of large, complex projects or studies in accordance with contractual obligations. • Ensure technical excellence of engineering functions, coordinating disciplines, procurement, and construction planning. • Develop scope, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements, monitoring progress and documenting scope changes. • Coordinate interdisciplinary technical personnel and assign staff from technical support groups. • Assist the Project Manager with planning, directing, supervising, and controlling technical, fiscal, and administrative functions. • Ensure client criteria and scope are met across engineering disciplines and expedite action items after meetings. • Prepare technical reports and documentation for the client and project management. • Obtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project disciplines. • Participate regularly in decision‑making meetings with the client and project management.

What You Bring
• Require previous project engineering experience and may need occasional relocation to the project site. • Require a 4‑year Civil Engineering degree and 10+ years of related experience on road/highway infrastructure projects. • Require California Professional (PE) registration. • Potential to lead, with excellent written and oral communication skills and familiarity with industry practices and regulations. • Possess thorough knowledge of current technology and ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software. • Desirable proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads.

Benefits
The salary range for this position is $100,900 – $176,600. Parsons offers best‑in‑class benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, ESOP, 401(k), life insurance, flexible work schedules, and holidays to support overall wellbeing. • Offer hybrid remote work (1‑2 days from home) with required weekly reporting to the Corona office.
