Prepare designs, calculations, and drawings for electrical substations under senior guidance.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for low, medium, and high‑voltage substations under senior supervision. • Develop one‑line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications layouts, and substation physical plans. • Perform conduit and cable sizing, AC/DC system calculations, and grounding design for substation projects. • Collaborate with designers, CAD technicians, project managers, and engineers to ensure compliance with national standards, safety codes, and project specifications. • Produce design sketches, redline drawings, and material lists, and support project documentation.

What You Bring
• Travel short‑term (1‑5 days) as needed; occasional longer assignments may occur. • Seek to obtain an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification within 12 months. • Preferred experience: utility or consulting substation design, familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower. • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
