About the Role

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and oversees a maintenance shop that supports post‑collection facilities. The role includes supervising a team of technicians responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of a fleet of trucks, containers, and other heavy‑duty equipment, ensuring compliance with company safety standards and federal and state regulations. The supervisor provides direction to A, B and C level lead technicians, monitors operational performance, and reports results with recommendations for process improvements. Daily responsibilities include conducting shop huddles, fleet walks, coaching, hiring and termination decisions in partnership with HR, employee training, performance evaluations, and merit recommendations. The supervisor inspects external repairs, conducts quality‑control inspections, tracks issues to resolution, and oversees complex diagnostics, including road‑testing vehicles when needed. They manage inventory levels, approve expenses within their authority, and maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, and welding systems to ensure timely, safe repairs.

What You Bring

Administrative duties cover payroll, employee record maintenance, documentation of preventive and corrective maintenance in Dossier Maintenance Software, budgeting, and setting departmental goals aligned with division objectives. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ASE certifications (including T3‑T7, T2 Diesel Engine, and Master Certified), at least three years of heavy‑equipment maintenance experience, and one year of supervisory experience with a solid understanding of DOT, OSHA, and related regulations.
