About the Role

Role purpose: The Materials Engineer ensures that all project materials comply with specifications and are approved by relevant authorities. You will work closely with the Senior Resident Engineer and the contractor to maintain material quality. • Review and approve contractor’s proposed materials and methods as directed by the Senior Resident Engineer. • Oversee contractor’s daily activities, work assignments, on‑site performance and provide guidance. • Attend and lead site inspections as required. • Follow up on testing and approvals from relevant authorities. • Review contractor’s testing requests and completed reports. • Review and approve contractor’s submissions. • Monitor material delivery performance and accuracy of materials used on site. • Coordinate with contractor’s supervisory personnel on schedule, sequence and method of work. • Ensure compliance with the contractor’s schedule. • Conduct continuous field inspections and consult with Resident and Contractor supervision staff. • Prepare reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (relevant discipline). • Experience on large construction programmes and design‑and‑build contracts. • Proven work on large infrastructure and/or landscape projects in the region. • Good knowledge of local material standards. • Ability to prioritize, advocate focus and accountability. • Strong, clear communication skills, both written and oral.
