About the Role

A Helper assists with various manual needs on a power plant construction site, including moving and retrieving equipment, digging, and standing by for fire safety. Work is performed under the direction of a supervisor or journeyman and may involve additional tasks as instructed. • Move equipment, dig, retrieve tools, and stand by for fire safety as directed. • Operate fire extinguishers and perform rigging/hoisting tasks using chokers, chain falls, and come‑alongs. • Climb structures, scaffolding, ladders, and work from platforms or heights. • Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication and repair of worn parts. • Follow supervisor instructions and adhere to safety rules and Zachry values. • Maintain reliable transportation and availability to work any of the seven days as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates must meet the physical demands of the role, have experience with industrial hand and power tools, and possess reliable transportation to work any day as needed. Preferred qualifications include prior Zachry experience, basic mechanical knowledge, and experience on an industrial construction site. The position requires basic knowledge of tools, strong problem‑solving abilities, manual dexterity, good reading comprehension, teamwork, and communication skills. Physical requirements involve extensive standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working outdoors for long periods while wearing mandatory PPE. • Use hand and power tools with basic mechanical knowledge. • Demonstrate problem‑solving, manual dexterity, and effective communication with team members. • Read and comprehend work instructions and safety documentation. • Stand, walk, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours outdoors in all weather conditions. • Wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, vest, gloves, and steel‑toe boots.
