About the Role
The Resident Engineer role in Dubai will lead the supervision and management of stormwater drainage components for a major infrastructure project. The position ensures all work complies with contract terms, RTA and Dubai Municipality standards, approved drawings, and project specifications while upholding the highest quality, safety, and performance standards. • Lead delivery of stormwater drainage packages, meeting schedule, budget, and quality targets. • Supervise contractors to ensure work complies with specifications, drawings, and milestones. • Direct and coordinate daily inspections by the supervision team. • Enforce HSE requirements and promote a safety‑first culture on site. • Resolve site issues promptly with sound engineering judgment and proper documentation. • Represent AECOM in client, contractor, and authority meetings, maintaining professional communication. • Review and approve contractors’ submittals, method statements, material approvals, and construction drawings. • Monitor progress reporting, schedule updates, and cost control to align with project goals. • Negotiate and manage scope variations, claims, and change requests with client and contractor. • Develop and implement Project Execution, HSE, and Quality Control Plans for the package. • Assess construction programs, technical deliverables, and cost estimates for accuracy. • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and inspectors, conducting performance reviews. • Conduct internal weekly meetings to track site performance and initiate corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and other authority procedures for microtunneling and drainage works.

What You Bring
Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (a Master’s is preferred) and ideally a professional engineering licence or chartership. They bring at least 20 years of post‑graduate experience in the design and supervision of large‑scale infrastructure, with proven expertise in microtunneling, stormwater drainage, deep shaft construction, and extensive UAE/Dubai project delivery, including RTA and Dubai Municipality work. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred). • Professional engineering licence or chartership (e.g., CEng, PE) preferred. • In‑depth knowledge of Dubai Authority procedures (RTA, DM, DEWA, etc.). • Minimum 20 years of post‑graduate experience in design and supervision of major infrastructure projects. • Proven experience with microtunneling, stormwater drainage systems, and deep shaft construction. • Extensive UAE/Dubai experience, especially with RTA and Dubai Municipality projects. • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders and authorities.
