About the Role

The Sr. Metrology Technician performs routine calibrations, tests, and inspections both in‑lab and on‑site using accredited standards, handling day‑to‑day escalations and priority requests. Work may involve automated or manual procedures, and the role includes calibrating lab standards as needed. The technician also mentors entry‑level staff and reports to the lead technician and lab manager. Key duties include calibrating and certifying electronic and dimensional measuring equipment to NIST‑traceable specifications, repairing devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and thermo‑hygrometers, and maintaining standards to established performance levels. All maintenance activities are recorded in the CMS, with reports generated on test results, equipment condition, repairs, and preventive maintenance to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements. The technician must interpret and create uncertainty budgets in line with ISO 17025:2017 and operate common laboratory measuring and test equipment. • Perform calibration and certification of electronic and dimensional measurement equipment to NIST‑traceable standards. • Calibrate and repair multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, thermo‑hygrometers, and related test instruments. • Maintain equipment standards, record activities in the CMS, and generate compliance reports per ISO 17025. • Create and interpret uncertainty budgets in accordance with ISO 17025:2017. • Assist and mentor entry‑level technicians on measurement procedures.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma with at least seven years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree in engineering technology with five years’ experience, and working knowledge of voltages, currents, resistance, capacitance, time/frequency, signal conditioning, dimensional tooling, pressure controllers, force gauges, and load cells. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required. • Utilize Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting. • Experience with IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Met/Track, Met/Cal, and mass comparator systems is preferred.
