About the Role
The position supports the Test Resource Management Center’s Big Data and Knowledge Management team, providing data‑driven decision analysis for DoD test ranges and acquisition programs. Responsibilities include extracting insights from large test and evaluation datasets and delivering robust, flexible products that enable modernization. Key duties involve data mining, building statistical and machine learning models, creating and executing analysis workflows in Python or R, and producing clear documentation. The analyst will serve as the primary liaison to stakeholders, ensuring they receive analytical tools, reports, and training, while also operating and demonstrating the CHEETAS platform and handling on‑site support without internet access. • Perform data‑driven analysis and develop decision‑support products using machine learning and operations research methods. • Conduct data mining, model development, and workflow automation in Python or R on diverse data storage paradigms. • Provide analytic consulting, workflow support, and promote best practices from data science to stakeholders. • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, delivering tools, reports, and training to enable informed recommendations. • Operate, demonstrate, and troubleshoot the CHEETAS platform and related tools on secure, offline networks. • Identify and implement process or workflow optimizations to enhance data analysis efficiency. • Maintain independent work discipline with minimal supervision while managing multiple stakeholder requirements. • Utilize scripting languages (Python, R), notebooks (Jupyter, RMarkdown), and interactive visualizations (RShiny, Dash). • Generate and present reports, visualizations, and findings to DoD customers and internal teams. • Work with Windows, Linux, containers, and query databases using SQL for comprehensive data handling.

What You Bring
The role is primarily remote with a requirement to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially increasing to 50% for on‑site support at DoD ranges and labs. Standard working hours apply, and the analyst must be self‑motivated, capable of independent work, and able to adapt tools to emerging user needs. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance and an advanced degree in operations research, engineering, applied math, statistics, computer science, or IT, plus 12+ years of relevant experience. Required skills include Python/R scripting, Jupyter/RMarkdown notebooks, interactive visualizations (RShiny, Dash), SQL querying, and experience with Windows, Linux, and container environments. • Communicate analytical findings effectively in written reports and presentations at both programmatic and technical levels. • Preferred: 12+ years of DoD experience, military ORSA background, familiarity with JADC2, JSF, TENA, JMETC, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
