About the Role

The role focuses on delivering intelligent and sustainable facilities by understanding future‑enabling trends such as converged networks and IoT technology that promote occupant wellness. The engineer will collaborate with the national ICT/BMS team to expand local Syska services, pursue new business opportunities, and leverage the firm’s smart‑technology‑centric competitive edge. • Build control designs and support project execution under supervision of a BMS design lead. • Prepare controls design drawings and integrated system specifications for diverse markets such as aviation, critical facilities, healthcare, and light industry. • Prepare BMS drawings, sequence operations, write specifications, and perform system design calculations. • Assist in selecting equipment for building systems and produce technical reports. • Support project execution by reviewing submittals and RFIs. • Attend project meetings and interface with clients and contractors. • Coordinate with internal PICs, PMs, site leaders, and practice area leaders. • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design teams. • Apply technical expertise in HVAC, BAS/BMS, EPMS, DCIM, or SCADA design, implementation, and operations.

What You Bring

• Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and foresight of challenges. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. • 18 months to 7+ years of experience in the HVAC controls industry as a consultant, contractor, or engineer. • Knowledge of HVAC/electrical instrumentation design and building control sequences. • Understanding of building IT infrastructure. • Effective team player with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. • Excellent communication skills; recent industry publications (presentations, webinars, trade publications) a plus. • Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification a plus, not required. • Active involvement with ASHRAE, CABA, or similar organizations a plus.
