About the Role
The Critical Facilities Technician operates, manages, maintains, and repairs HVAC, power, plumbing, fire control, roofing, and exterior grounds systems. This role supports inspections, monitoring of building systems—including the Building Monitoring System (BMS)—and collaborates with senior team members and service providers to ensure accurate documentation and incident response. Key responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring BMS alarms, and supporting energy‑efficiency measures. The technician also facilitates vendor work approvals, documents site activities such as permits and incident logs, responds to on‑site incidents, and completes routine work orders and minor system modifications. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, power, plumbing, fire suppression, and roofing systems. • Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolve alarm issues. • Support vendor activities, approve work, and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures. • Document site activities, including permits, maintenance operation protocols (MOPs), and incident logs. • Respond to on‑site incidents, identify single points of failure, and recommend improvements. • Complete routine work orders, circuit installations, and minor mechanical/electrical modifications. • Troubleshoot and maintain office and auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime. • Collaborate with team members and mentor junior staff on maintenance tasks. • Manage inventory of critical parts and equipment to maintain optimal stock levels.

What You Bring
Applicants must have a high‑school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance. Required skills include knowledge of facility systems, ability to follow standard operating procedures, vendor coordination, and basic computer/BMS proficiency. Preferred qualifications are CFC certification and a Virginia Journeyman Electrician license. • Required: High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance. • Required skills: knowledge of facility systems, work‑order processes, vendor coordination, and basic computer/BMS proficiency. • Preferred: CFC certification and Virginia Journeyman Electrician license.

Benefits
The position offers a target base salary of $67,400 to $101,000 annually for the Culpeper, VA location, with eligibility for bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life, disability insurance, retirement contributions, paid time off, holidays, and an employee assistance program.
