About the Role

ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in New England and leading the region’s transition to clean energy. ISO New England oversees the 24/7 operation of the power grid across six New England states and administers the region’s $10+ billion wholesale electricity market, enabling over 14 million people to reliably power their homes and workplaces. The HR Department ensures the organization has the talent needed to meet short‑ and long‑term goals, offers competitive programs to attract, retain, and reward employees, supports enterprise‑wide training and development, and creates a productive work environment. The Talent Management Intern role, located in the Human Resources Talent Management Center of Excellence, is designed for self‑starters who enjoy solving complex problems, sharing ideas, and learning how talent strategies shape sustainable careers while designing frameworks, tools, and systems for workforce planning, succession readiness, and career development. Ideal candidates have experience with Excel, exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, a proactive “nothing is impossible” mindset, curiosity and adaptability, strong written communication, and a genuine interest in how organizations attract, develop, and retain talent. Eligibility requires completion of at least the first year of college, enrollment in a four‑year or graduate program, permanent U.S. work authorization (no visa sponsorship), and willingness to relocate if residing outside the United States. • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel with strong attention to detail and organization. • Maintain a proactive, adaptable mindset with strong written communication skills.
