About the Role

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic role supports both shop and field service operations, diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar construction equipment that powers infrastructure projects across the region. Technicians work independently or with mentorship, using company‑provided trucks for field assignments and a structured shop environment for other tasks. • Diagnose and repair heavy and light construction equipment, including dozers, loaders, compactors, and excavators. • Perform preventative maintenance, part installations, rebuilds, and component repairs such as transmissions, undercarriage, track, and fuel systems. • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems using Cat ET diagnostic software. • Provide field service support with a company‑provided truck or work independently in the shop with mentorship.

What You Bring

Applicants must own the tools required for repairs, hold a high school diploma or GED, and possess a strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, fuel, transmission, undercarriage, and track systems. Experience with Cat ET or similar diagnostic software and prior work on earthmoving equipment or as a military mechanic is required. • Must own necessary tools and have a high school diploma or GED. • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, fuel, transmission, undercarriage, and track systems is required. • Preferred: MIG/arc welding, gouging, oxy‑acetylene torch, experience with hydraulic pumps/valves/motors, dealer or manufacturer training, and certification or technical school background in diesel mechanics.
