About the Role
Interns will develop creative and innovative solutions for complex bridge challenges, selecting efficient and economical methods to meet project objectives. They will ensure designs comply with Federal, State, and local regulations, prepare specifications, cost estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed analyses, as well as review supplier drawings and assist with technical bid analyses. • Develop innovative bridge engineering solutions and select efficient methods. • Ensure designs meet Federal, State, local regulations and industry standards. • Prepare specifications, cost estimates, quantity take‑offs, technical reports, and engineering analyses. • Review supplier drawings and perform technical bid analyses. • Assist in issuing construction documents such as data sheets and specifications. • Contribute to intermediate to large‑scale bridge or roadway projects as part of a design team.

What You Bring
The role requires a candidate currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with coursework in transportation or structural engineering. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple bridge or roadway projects, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and be proficient with MS Office and CAD software, preferably MicroStation. Desired qualifications include Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification, prior internship experience in bridge or structural engineering, and no security clearance requirement. This position is part of Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure team, which has delivered essential projects worldwide for over 80 years. • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering with relevant coursework. • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and strong communication skills. • Proficient in MS Office and CAD software (MicroStation preferred); knowledge of industry standards. • Desired: Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification and prior bridge/structural internship experience.
